Welcome to CIS,
What we have at CIS is something truly distinctive. When you walk through our halls, you will notice the joy, enthusiasm and purpose that our students possess for learning. This is a place where students feel safe and secure, a place where students recognize their potential and a place where students dare to take initiative. We work diligently with our community and faculty to foster an atmosphere that promotes a learning community characterized by child-centered instruction, academic excellence, trust, respect, community involvement, effective communications, and recognition of both student and staff achievement.
We provide students in the Early Years, Elementary and Middle School with opportunities to pursue academic and personal excellence through the Cambridge Primary & Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum. In our grades 9 and 10, we offer the IGCSE curriculum, and in Grades 11 and 12 students participate in the IB or CIS Diploma Program. Technology is an integrated part of our programs, with grades 6-12 working in a 1:1 environment, and shared devices available for our students in early years and elementary.
An education at CIS is designed to enrich the lives of all students, by offering academic, creative and experiential opportunities to challenge our students’ learning potential, and to explore all the possibilities available to them.
The educational needs of today’s students are evolving with the realization that knowledge and memorization are no longer sufficient. We are preparing students for an unknown, but not altogether unpredictable, future; a future where many of the jobs they will hold have not yet even been created. We have established a climate of inquiry that challenges the entire school community to continually re- evaluate itself by building on our core values and beliefs, with a focus on the future.
