Overview of the CIS Campus

Canadian International School (CIS) is located in North Bangalore on a 14–16 acre campus, overlooking one of the many lakes that dot the Bangalore landscape, and surrounded by coconut trees and spice farms. The campus provides a calm and green learning environment away from the bustle of the city.

The school is designed with a horizontal architectural layout, incorporating courtyards and open spaces that allow for natural ventilation, abundant daylight, and collaborative outdoor learning areas.

The campus includes:

  • Three main academic buildings
  • Two libraries serving Elementary and Secondary students
  • A dedicated administration wing
  • A full-sized football field; multiple open and covered basketball courts; multipurpose fields for cricket and free play; temperature-controlled swimming pools; a fitness studio; an indoor sports arena for badminton, pickleball, volleyball, and basketball; as well as an indoor games room with table tennis, carrom, foosball, and chess
  • A Performing Arts Centre — the Odeum, a 480-seat venue equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, designed to support music and drama performances, as well as large gatherings and celebrations
  • Boarding facilities and student residences — two gender-based boarding buildings that provide comfortable living spaces for students in Grade 6 and above. Rooms are based on double occupancy and offer the option of air conditioning
  • Sustainability infrastructure, including 1,000+ solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, sewage treatment plants, and a biogas tank

Together, these facilities support academic learning, athletics, the arts, community life, and environmental responsibility.

Campus Safety & Security

At CIS, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors is a top priority. The campus is equipped with comprehensive security systems and protocols to ensure a safe and secure environment at all times.

  • Fully enclosed campus with a perimeter wall and electrical fencing
  • 24/7 trained security personnel stationed across the campus
  • Thorough vehicle inspections at all entry points
  • Digital visitor management system with ID verification and screening
  • Mandatory ID badges for all CIS community members
  • CCTV surveillance system with over 150 cameras across campus

A central CCTV command center, located within the Administration Building, continuously monitors campus activity to maintain safety throughout the school day.

Campus Layout & Administration Wing

The CIS campus is thoughtfully organized into three main academic buildings, each designed to support different stages of student learning and development:

  • Elementary School: Homeroom-based learning environment for younger students
  • Middle School: Subject-based classrooms with collaborative learning spaces
  • High School: Specialized classrooms and fully equipped laboratorie
  • Administration Wing: The Administration Wing serves as the operational hub of the school, housing leadership and key support teams. The administration area also includes a childcare room for faculty and staff children (6 months to 3 years), managed by a dedicated childcare specialist and assistant.
