Welcome to Canadian International School, one of the finest International Schools in Bangalore, India, providing a well-balanced academic to its students since its inception in 1996.
The admissions team is excited to partner with families as they consider their educational choices for their children. As we take you through our admissions process, we want you to know that our primary goal is to ensure your child’s success at CIS. Our admissions process looks at the character of a child academically and socially to make sure CIS is the right fit for her or him. We welcome diversity and hope families stay with us for their child’s entire academic journey.
Finding the right fit for your child is an important decision when it comes to their learning journey. The dynamic and agile learning environment at CIS encourages students to be self-motivated and responsible learners. We encourage students to move beyond their comfort zones in order to gain new understandings and skills while at the same time challenging themselves. - Our Early Years (PK – SK) program sets the foundation for future learning in a child’s life. Our students learn through inquiry-based opportunities anchored to Cambridge Primary Curriculum. Building on the strong foundation of our Early Childhood Program, CIS Elementary (Grade 1 – 5) students more fully immerse themselves in developing conceptual understanding and competencies across a broad range of disciplines through the Cambridge Primary Curriculum.
- The Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum in the middle school years of grades 6-8 develops learners’ skills and understanding across all subject areas for the first three years of secondary education and provides excellent preparation for Cambridge IGCSE and the IB program.
- CIS offers the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) designed by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) to our Grade 9 and 10 students. The program focuses on academic and creative competencies to further develop and consolidate their prior learning and provide excellent preparation for the next steps into the IB Diploma.
- The two-year IB Diploma Program, offered in Grades 11 and 12, completes the high school experience. Along with our own CIS Diploma, the IB Diploma Programme is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities. These final two years at CIS prepare students for university and encourages them to ask challenging questions, perform proper research, and eloquently communicate findings in writing and in speech.
