Scholarship Program

Canadian International School aims to attract the strongest candidates from the Bangalore area and beyond and benefit students who might not otherwise be able to afford a CIS education. The CIS High School Scholarship Program has these goals in mind, as the school pushes forward into the future. Eligibility Criteria

  • The CIS Scholarship Program is available to all new applicants to CIS for Grade 9 (IGCSE) and Grade 11 (IB).
  • Candidates applying for the scholarship should be Indian Citizens.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 80% in the previous Grade or equivalent for the IB program. For the IGCSE program, candidates must have a minimum of 85% in previous Grade or equivalent.
  • The decision on minimum equivalent grades for students coming from different grading systems rests solely with the CIS Scholarship Committee.
  • Selection factors will also include
    • Statement of financial need
    • Evidence of academic excellence
    • Leadership qualities
    • Significant artistic or athletic achievement
    • Civic involvement/volunteerism
    • Engagement in school activities
  • Students whose fees are paid by parents’ companies cannot be considered for the Scholarship Program.

Instructions

  • Click here to complete the school application form and upload all the relevant documents (One passport size photograph each of student and parents, Birth Certificate of the student, the last two years reports (grade 7 full report & term 1 of grade 8 for Grade 9 // grade 9 full report & term 1 of grade 10 for Grade 11), Health History Form and Immunization Records.
  • Once you have completed the application, please send an email to scholarships@cisb.org.in with an essay (up to 600 words) reflecting evidence of financial need, personal achievements, leadership skills, contribution to community service. IT returns (2020-2021 & 2021-2022) of working parents are also required to be attached in this email. Do not forget to mention in the email subject line – Scholarship Application – 2022
  • Application deadline – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16th, 2022

Selection Process

  1. Applications will be initially screened for eligibility.
  2. Eligible candidates will be notified of the next steps, including interviews and testing.
  3. MAP tests will be conducted in English Reading and Mathematics. The candidate will also have to submit a written sample as part of the testing. The topics for the same will be given on the day of the tests (the date for the tests will be given based on the date of completion of the application and may vary for each student).
  4. The selected candidate will be notified via email about the % of the scholarship awarded.

NOTE

  1. Decisions on awarding of Scholarships will be based on all application criteria.  Failure to submit documents will result in ineligibility.
  2. Awarding of a scholarship does not guarantee enrolment. Students must complete all admission formalities, before enrolment.
  3. The decision of the CIS Scholarship Committee is final.
