Merit–Based Scholarship

The Canadian International School (CIS), Bangalore, is thrilled to announce the launch of a merit-based scholarship program to recognize and support high-achieving Indian students in their pursuit of an exceptional international education. This scholarship offers an incredible opportunity for Indian nationals currently in 10th grade, during the 2025-2026 academic year, to join CIS for the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in grade 11.

The CIS Merit-Based Scholarship seeks outstanding students with a demonstrated record of academic excellence. Eligible applicants must have achieved a minimum of 90% in all subject areas, showcasing their dedication to academic rigor and holistic development. Each year, three awards will be granted to top candidates who embody the values and aspirations of CIS.

Recipients of this scholarship will join a diverse and dynamic student body at CIS, gaining access to world-class faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and an immersive international curriculum that fosters global awareness, critical thinking, and leadership skills. IBDP Scholarship Programme

Eligibility Criteria

The CIS Merit Scholarship Programme is available to all new applicants to CIS for Grade 11 (IB).
Candidates applying for the scholarship should be Indian citizens.
Candidates must have a minimum of 90% in the previous grades or equivalent for eligibility.
The decision on minimum equivalent grades for students coming from different grading systems rests solely with the CIS Scholarship Committee.
One Merit based scholarship may be awarded to a current grade 10 CIS student who meets the selection criteria.
Selection factors will also include:
- Evidence of academic excellence
- Leadership qualities
- Significant artistic or athletic achievement
- Civic involvement/volunteerism
- Engagement in school activities
- Prospective applicant’s potential contribution to the community of learning at CIS

Students whose fees are paid by parents’ companies or whose employer reimburses parents for school fees cannot be considered for the Scholarship Programme.

Once you have completed the application, please send an email to scholarships@cisb.org.in with your statement of personal introduction and intent to apply for the CIS Merit Scholarship.
The application deadline will not be extended for late submissions. Do not forget to mention in the email subject line — CIS Merit Scholarship Application – 2026
Application deadline — 4:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16, 2025

Selection Process

Applications will be initially screened for eligibility.
Eligible candidates will be notified of the next steps, including interviews and testing.
Admissions tests will be conducted in English Reading and Mathematics. The candidate will also have to submit a written sample as part of the testing. The topics for the same will be given on the day of the tests.
The date for the tests will be given based on the date of completion of the application and may vary for each student.
The selected candidate will be notified via email about the scholarship award.
