Inspiring Futures: Transformative High School Education at CIS

Canadian International School (CIS) is an institution that is committed to the holistic growth of our students. As one of the top international schools in Bangalore, we provide a broad-based education designed to enable all students from Pre-Kindergarten/Preschool-Grade 12 to discover their strengths, and to make the most of their talents within CIS and beyond.

High school at CIS consists of the four critical years before students enter college. It’s also a time when students start learning about life, developing their interests, and discovering who they are. At CIS, we have the IGCSE curriculum for grade 9 and 10, and the IBDP curriculum for grade 11 and 12. The choice of curricula was established because the Cambridge curriculum helps students build a solid base for the higher grades and the IBDP provides a holistic education that prepares students for a life in college.

Here’s what sets apart a high school education at CIS:

  • Multicultural environment
In a global scenario, a multicultural environment allows students to experience different ways of life, learn other languages, art, traditions, and behaviours. CIS has a multicultural faculty and students from over 40 nationalities that helps prepare students for living in a multicultural society.

  • Experience in the workplace
At CIS, we give students the opportunity to actually experience work in the industry of their choice. We also have the CAS program, a component of the IBDP that requires students to do a service for two years in order to obtain their high school diploma. This helps students not only learn faster but also better prepares them for life after school.

  • College prep
The IBDP is a rigorous program that gives students the advantage of a smoother transition between high school and the college of their choice. They develop a college-level mentality sooner than their peers, which can help them handle heavy workloads and balance school and a social life. We also have a dedicated team of College Counselors that helps students narrow down on the university/college of their choice.

  • Balance between co-curricular activities and academics
Both the IGCSE and the IBDP offer a healthy balance between the rigors of academics and co-curricular activities. We offer a range of over 50 clubs that students can choose from. Clubs are on Mondays and Tuesdays for 55 minutes each.
