IB Diploma Programme
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Canadian International School (CIS) is a balanced and transformative educational experience for students aged 16–19. It is globally recognised by universities for its academic rigour and focus on holistic development.

IB Diploma Program Curriculum Framework
The curriculum comprises of the DP core and six subject groups.
The DP core aims to broaden students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills.

The IB Diploma Programme is an option of study in the final two years at CIS. Students must take six subjects (3 higher level and 3 standard level) — one from each from groups 1–6. If students do not wish to take a group 6 subject, they can take an additional group 3 or group 4 subject.

COMBINED IBDP RESULTS
- 316 students sat the IB exam from 2020–2024
- 31.5 was the average CIS score
- 84.3% was the pass rate at CIS; higher than the world average of 84.1%
- 25 students scored above 40 on the examinations

- 430+ worldwide university acceptances
OUR IBDP GRADES CAN BE INTERPRETED AS FOLLOWS:
- A student’s examination performance in individual subjects is scored on a scale of 1–7 points with 7 as the highest
- An additional 3 points are available based on a matrix of performance in Theory of Knowledge (ToK) and the Extended Essay components
- Successful completion of Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) is a requirement for the award of the diploma.
- Students who meet all assessment requirements and achieve a minimum of 24 points, with at least 12 point in HL (out of the possible 45) are awarded the IB Diploma
