Uniting Minds to Create
a Better World

The Model United Nations at Canadian International School (CISMUN) aims to develop the character of global citizens through diplomacy and international relations. The CISMUN program is an integral part of the middle and high school experience for those who are passionate about making a change. This program has run for over a decade and regularly participates in conferences locally, regionally, and internationally. We hope that CISMUN XII can be a haven for you to grow as a global citizen and make lasting connections. As a conference that follows THIMUN procedure, we are striving to achieve THIMUN affiliation in the very near future.

With the ever-fragmentation of the global order, bottom-up approaches and reconciliation of geopolitical, economic, environmental, developmental, and social divides are paramount. By intertwining our conference theme, ‘Navigating a Changing World’, within each committee, we aspire to promote the necessity of a global effort to chart a course through the world’s problems.

Letter from the Secretariat

Distinguished Delegates, Respected Student Officers, Honorable directors, and Esteemed Guests,

It is my honor to invite and welcome you to the 12th iteration of the Canadian International School Model United Nations Conference: CISMUN XII. In a world grappling with conflict, poverty, and violence, the need to rebuild stability has never been more dire. While an immediate solution may seem distant, the first step is recognizing that the world is changing and understanding the need to navigate it through this conference.

Scheduled to take place from February 27th - March 1st, 2026, CISMUN XII aims to bring delegates together to deliberate on sophisticated and innovative solutions to real-world crises. Since its inception as an internal conference in 2014, CISMUN has been defined by fruitful debate, diplomatic discourse, and meticulous research. This year, with 12 available committees catering to both Junior and Senior levels, we continue that tradition, ensuring every delegate has the opportunity to engage in constructive debate and impactful resolution-writing.

Our conference theme this year, ‘Navigating a Changing World’, could not be more relevant in today's world. Some matters such as nuclear energy, environmental degradation, human exploitation and war seem to be of common discussion in the world of the UN. But putting these issues to light in the context of a rapidly changing world brings a renewed perspective and a sense of urgency to produce legal frameworks. With the rise of artificial intelligence, drug addictions within the youth, and more frequent militarizations in regions across the world, the time to act is now.

CISMUN XII is open to all, and regardless of your experience, your age or the committee that you are in, I encourage you to make the most of this conference experience. Network with fellow delegates from across the country, embrace the spirit of diplomacy, and enjoy our lively social night. Over three fast-paced, thought-provoking days, every delegate will have the chance to showcase their ingenuity and adaptability.

Backed by a conscientious and reliable Secretariat, well-versed Student Officers, and a heavily enthusiastic set of delegates, CISMUN is coming back better than ever. On behalf of the CISMUN XII Secretariat, we wish you the best of luck with the conference, and your future MUN endeavors!

Kind Regards,
Edwin Eldo
